My girlfriend's ex-husband is refusing to sell the house they co-own. They rec'd a very reasonable offer, especially considering current market conditions. While he is living in the house, they are splitting the mortgage payment (per their settlement agreement). It is also in their divorce settlement agreement that the house be sold. What recourse does she have legally regarding either the sale of the house or the payment of the mortgage? What can she do to remove the leech?

If it is in the divorce settlement agreement she can put a violation on him for not complying with a court order (which a divorce agreement is).
If she had a lawyer during the divorce, contact him/her and they will go from there. If not, call the court, they will always point you in the right direction.

Obviously hes a bum and wants her to pay half the morgage, if its in the divorce agreement that the house be sold then you should go to her lawyer and say that hes not following what is on the divorce papers and he needs to sell. And see what the lawyer tells yall

A well drafted decree will deal with the situation you describe. Check it over thoroughly. If you find no answer there she should consult her lawyer. The ex cannot unreasonably refuse to sell.

I would talk to a lawyer, technically I think they can hold out for a good offer, but they do have to except a reasonable one... talk to her attorney immediately. He should still be retained until everything goes through.

Call her lawyer. He can't be living in the house and have her pay half the mortgage for him.

get her to talk to her lawyer, if it was part of the settlement then she either has to buy him out of it, or he can buy her share of it, or they have to sell it.

She needs to ask her lawyer that question. SInce there was no time frame apparently put on when he should sell it, he can probably stay there as long as he wants.
