To attack one country without a true reason is really enough.
I don't think, that the Americans a so stupid to attack the Iran. Be the way the Russians have good relation with Iran and would not watch without interference.

The ONLY practical fact that stops the USA from using a nuke (or multiple nukes) to stop whomever or whatever we please at any time is the moral indignation that the average US citizen and then the citizens of the world feel towards this solution. It is highly unlikely that anyone or any nation on Earth could successfully attack the USA with a large nuclear weapon delivered by air craft, ship or missile first or as a retaliatory strike. Even though the defensive capabilities of the USA in some areas are limited the delivery capabilities of other countries in both magnitude and reliability are significantly less sophisticated, and the USA can hit them 100 times as hard due to our advanced surveillance techniques before they can hit us. The only scenario that might even cause a problem would be a USA first strike against N Korea. China might get a few delievered before their overpopulation problem was solved. If the USA nuked Iran would France nuke the USA? China? Russia? Pakistan or India? Who are you kidding? LOL Still, hopefully hostilities will never come to this catasthrophic (for the enemy) end.
And the answer to the exact question is No. With proper planning and all the data we have the exact weaponry could be used to virtually wipe out Iraq and do little damage, including serious fallout, to Iran or the world.
How many people died from all the relatively dirty atmospheric tests done in the 50s?
Again.... LET"S NOT GO THERE, BECAUSE IT WOULD BE WRONG MORALLY.

You can't really control where the fallout goes. That's one reason why Nuclear Weapons haven't been used in war since WWII. The fallout form anything other than the smallest of bombs will reach the surrounding nations.
Once you get the nukes small enough to be "safe" to use, you;re looking at something that costs several times what a conventional bomb with comparable firepower would cost.
Nukes are really only useful if you're either trying to destroy the world, of you want to destroy a few countries and don't care about the rest of the continent.

Why the hell would we need to use nuclear weapons on Iran? I thought that with Obama being President and a Democrack controlled Congress, the world would respect us once again and we would have world peace simply by just sitting down and talking. Are you saying somebody lied on the Democrack side during the campaign? That can't be so, Democracks say Republicans lie, so who's the guilty party?

we have to use one strong enough to destroy their nuclear facilities, but weak enough to not have fallout over the entire country.
why can't other bombs be used? seriously, can they? i'd prefer that we bomb the president of Iran and his precious nukes, and leave the poor students who loathe him alone. hell, let's send THEM the missiles- they'll bomb him for us.
