I have been put on a generic for prozac for anxiety. And I'm suspecting that I'm pregnant. I was just wondering if anyone here has been on it, whether they took it during pregnancy, etc. Please tell me if you have any advice!!

It is probably ok, but you should tell your doctor asap. There might be a safer alternative, or a lower dose. There might also be some things to watch for in your pregnancy.
My sister-in-law took anti-anxiety medication through two pregnancies, and she and her two kids were/are fine, but she had some extra tests and some extra precautions during her deliveries.
Good luck, and call your ob/gyn as soon as you think you are pregnant. Pre-natal care immediately is important for everyone.

I was on prozac throughout my pregnancy. My feeling and that of my midwife was that (unproven) risk of side effects was more than outweighed by keeping my mentally healthy so I could keep myself physically healthy. Tell the provider who gave you the prizac about the pregnancy and tell your pregnancy provider about the prozac, but don't panic, and DON'T stop it all at once on your own.

No fetal adverse effects in animals.
Crosses human placenta.
Inadequate human studies, but suggested possible association with increased risk of first trimester spontaneous abortions, and exposure to the drug late in pregnancy may cause perinatal side effects including prematurity, small for date, persistent pulmonary hypertension, poor neonatal adaptation.

its totally fine to take i also take a generic of prozac for depression. its harmless to baby i have taken it everyday of my pregnancy.

my friends dr put her on it and she was pregnant at the time. It has no effect on ur baby but as always ask your dr to make sure it will be ok.

if you are pregnant you need to get off that drug, all together. there are so many other drugs out there for anxiety, i have anxiety im on paxil . prozac is one bad drug tell your doctor you want to get off of prozac. if he dont go to a new doctor good luck
