I realize that we all have words that we favor to express ourselves but why is this word so used in the african american culture, Is it something that they are proud of and practice. In their culture is it good or bad to be a m*****f******?

It's the most offensive expression they can think of
it started out as extremely derogatory and would initiate an immediate response, now it is so common that is is used all the time without much notice. Just like "Hell" 40 years ago was swearing, "S**T" was a terrible thing to say "F**K" was unimaginably a terrible word. language evolves, good or bad.

M.F. is usually considered the king of the cuss words or phrases, and it makes those who are inadequate feel tough to throw it around for its shock value. What they don't realize is that by over indulging in using it, the phrase is gradually loosing its shock potential.
Whether its a good thing to be one is all a matter of relevance; i.e., which side of the fence you're on.

Probably the same reason a lot of white people use it.

It's offensive, and gets people's attention.

If you're upset, that's what you call something or somebody, and everybody will know that you're upset.

It's not a black or white thing, it's a obscenity thing. Unless you'd like to make the claim that black people use obscenities more, anyways.

Most people who use various profanities do so in order to impress the listener, in my experience. Over use tends to water down the impact and extreme over use is more offensive to most people.
