I have recently installed Vista and it seems that every day brings a new challenge. Today's problem is that my printer has an error message that it is out of paper.

Any ideas how to overcome this?

It also won't scan but that is less of a concern at the moment.

Thanks in anticipation.

First check the USB is definetely connected correctly and reboot the computer. If you are still having problems...

Vista is having a lot of compatability issues with a wide range of software and hardware, I no I sell it!

I found a workaround for this, or at least a driver that works for the HP photosmart 1215. The 7200 is very close to being the same printer so I tried manually adding a printer with the printer usb pluged in and printer turned on using the HP Photosmart 7200 Series drivers that Vista provides and it works pretty well! You can use this until if and when the vista driver for your printer is released.
Good luck!

Vista comes packed with the drivers you need to operate this printer. If you installed drivers uninstall them. Sorry I couldnt help any more than this. Since you are one of the first to get Vista, you are going to run into some walls here and there, mostly concerning software and hardware support. Good luck. P.S. I have the 1310 series, I had the same thing happen. Had to take out paper and hit the resume button a few times then reload paper and it worked. The paper just got shoved in to far and jammed the thing.

I dont have Vista but I do have an HP1355 psc & when I installed IE7 the HP Director stopped working. I deleted IE7 & & everything went back to normal. Perhaps its due to you having Vista with IE7

Oh gawd, the pleasures of an unready Vista. Try HPs website for a compatible driver - you may be lucky or maybe not!
