I used to use Carmex but that little jar hurt inside my pocket so I switched to Chapstick Lip Moisturizer. It didn't work as well at first but I got used to it.

For chapped lips, I use Chapstick.
For cold sores, I take Lactinex pills. Ask your pharmacist. You do not need a prescription, but they are kept refrigerated. They contain heathly microbes normally found in the body. These microbes suppress the herpes virus. This is one of the best kept secrets I have ever found. Start taking them at the first tingle of a cold sore and many times it doesn't even go ahead and develop. Stop taking them when the threat has passed.

I wasn't fond of either-I'm sworn on Vaseline and for really chapped lips that don't heal up no matter what I use kitchen baking Crisco-it heals 'em up fast and gives lips a fashion shine.I don't dip in constantly though;put some Crisco in a little lip gloss pot or spoon out a little per application.
