Virtual Memory
This is system memory that is simulated by the hard drive. When all the RAM is being used (for example if there are many programs open at the same time) the computer will swap data to the hard drive and back to give the impression that there is slightly more memory.

The more virtual memory you set for each hard drive, the better your computer should run (to a point... this doesn't apply after you reach some arbitrary number in the '000s).

well the easies thing to do in this situation would be to allocate more virtual memory for yourself. If you have at least 5gb of free space on your hard drive. Switch your virtual memory to custom size and set both values to 1000, if you have lots of free space on your hard drive like 10gb or more set it to 2000 that should be plenty of VM for any programs.

Also if you have more than about 10 icons next to your clock I would check into what they are doing and remove the ones that aren't doing anything for you, they are using ram, and probably slowing down your computer.

When your computer doesn't have enough physical memory (sticks of memory) for an application that is running (games tend to use the most memory) then your computer compensates by using your hard drive for "virtual" memory. The process of accessing the hard drive continuously causes the application to slow down somewhat, which can be noticed in some games.

Either Clean out the Drive, or Upgrade to a Larger Drive, thats the two alternatives

I found your question difficult to read, please refrain from netspeak whenever possible.

If your virtual memory cannot expand it may be due to a lack of available hard disk space. Check your available disk space and make sure you have at least 1 GB free at all times.

Good luck!
