It's called trying to tell people how and what to think. Most people get their news info from one of the local media channels or newspapers. (Fox or CNn, MSNBC, etc.). So they have to analyze the news for us because apparently we are the ADD generation and cannot think for ourselves. It's also considered another form of social control.

Well all news has changed. You still get debate and both sides on Cable...not at all on the old channels. I like Fox News and some radio shows to get to hear about the issues. The problem is that all the cable channels are 24 hours so they have to repeat and fill in for a lot of time, which has put a lot more "entertainment" on as well.

I think it has hurt our media....but you still can get opinions and see what is going on if you watch things like Congress in action, or debates....some of them...like O'Reilly won't let the "spin" get going so you can clearly hear what they have to say. Those that want to "spin" their story hate him...but he does genuinely investigate the facts and tells you when it his own opinion.

I don't know about "news views" instead of objective news reporting is fatal but it isn't what I was taught in journalism school.
