There is no real "best age" to have a child. But if u are under the age of 21 and are not in a committed relationship i would definitley reconsider. You have to feel that u are stable enough in your own life before u bring another life into the world. Raising kids is tough and gets very expensive. If u are thinking of having a baby think long and hard about it as there is no inbetween when it comes to kids....you either want them or u don't.

Wait until you are married and you and your husband are financially ready for a child. I'd say the best ages for having a child are between 23-35.

So here's a list of the expenses of having a child:
$4800 delivery
$700/month day care
$100/month diapers
$50/month wipes
$150/month formula- if not breast feeding until 1 year
$150/month food
$600/year clothes at least
Then there's all of the extras:pictures, toys, more clothes, classes, babysitters, furniture for the nursery- mine was $1500 all together
Then there's the year of sleepless nights, temper tantrums, colds, fevers, and loss of sex life, jealousy from your husband
That is what it costs- of course if you can handle that and have a great partner, and a house, and support from your family/friends, take your best shot.

Some people are good parents in their teens and some are good parents in their 30's and 40's. Before you have a child I would make sure to have a good education with a good job, a nice home and a reliable vehicle make sure you have the finances and the maturity to have a child.

This is a personal question which depends on circumstances. being a mother of three in her mid thirties, i find that i have less patience now than i had in my twenties, It was nice to have children early on, i seem to have a lot of energy and patience to sharemy life with them. There are a lot of after parents that say that parenthood is more rewarding over the age of 40. I guess it depends on your scale of things. I'd much rather have adolescence over by the late forties, so that retirement wouldn't seem like parenthood all over again.

I think it should be when you are in your very late teens or early twenties. I want to have my first child at 22...but that is because I want to get married at 21. I think You should be married of course...but it all depends on the person. I personally suggest sometime in your twenties.

It's not the age that you know when you're ready to have a child, but how prepared, mentally, physically and emotionally, and defiently monetarily, you feel and are !
