Create a false flag scenario to rally the American people behind them, like produce some dodgy dossier or tell the world that it is Iran that is supplying weapons that are killing your kids in Iraq, all of it untrue of course, but under the relentless barage of propaganda the American people will again scream SOMETHING MUST BE DONE, well something along those line I would imagine

Well, now that's an interest question. As far as their involvement in Iraq is concerned, that's been known--an ignored by the GOP-for 4 years.
Now, they've fixed on that as thenext int heir line of excuses for the disaster and abysmal failure of Bush's war and foreign policy.
It will goe like this (unless Congress steps in and stops Bush): Thehype about "Iran arming insurgents" will continue while Bushe has his "surge.." Then, when the surge fails, Bush will claim it's due to Iran--and will try to widen the war by attacking/provoking Iran.

The Republicans have a 4-step plan.
1. Shock & Awe.
2. Spend as many billions of tax payer dollars as time permits.
3. Steal all the oil you can as quickly as possible.
4. Cut and run.

The EU has the lead on this. They have had the lead the entire time. It's the ONE time the EU has stood up to deal with an issue.
Republicans will see what happens and act with the Democrats.
Remember, Dems hold the power in the House and Senate.
