If you had an experience with them, do you think it's a waste of money? What would you recommend instead?

Perhaps its different in every country. Could it be any different for people living in Vancouver, Canada?

My daughter went to John Robert Powers when she was a young teen. It was useful in helping her achieve poise and personal grooming skills. However, it is geared toward young ladies who desire to become runway models. Most of the young women they encourage to try for this goal wind up with unnecessarily broken hearts, because they were not "model material" to begin with. You see, the symposiums that JRP sponsors are major revenue-generators for them.

My daughter did have some unique experiences with JRP that I don't think she would have had without them, however. She did get small, local runway gigs for awhile; but mostly these were just positive experiences and not entrances into the full-blown modelling world. She knew this, however, and so the experiences she had were mostly positive.

I would suggest you ask yourself a few questions:
1. What is my purpose for enrolling (self/daughter)?
2. What do I expect to gain from this experience?
3. What level of dedication to the program am I wlling to give?
4. How much can I truly afford to spend?

Then I would interview JRP and other modelling/talent schools to see how they fill your criteria.

Best wishes on this adventure!

JRP, ayyyy me and my sister had a BAD experience with them. One day we got a call saying that we were wanted at a audition for a TV commercial and that it was in a week. Me and my sister were so excited and we attened the audition. and well we both got call backs.as excited as i was i told everyone i was gonna be on a commercial and that i would be making it to the big screen soon. My parents were sucked into a whirlpool of scam.!.! JRP made my parents pay for head shots, modeling classes and overall my parents spent morethan 8 thousand dollars!!!i took modeling and i got really skinny. Then all the sudden they told me and my sis that they didnt need me anymore and laid me and 15 other girls off! I then researched them further and they bring kids/ teens so far when they have enough money, they lay them off! Dont get caught up in it. it is a HUGGGGEEEE scam!!!

JRP is a scam. Stay away from them. They will charge a lot of money for nothing. They claim to be in the modeling business, but, they are not. They charge thousands of dollars for "modeling classes," which REAL modeling agencies give you for free.

Go to: bbb.org for additional information on them.
