if you ever do need to file a claim with your insurance they will require a police report so i would suggest you report it just in case. and if there were credit cards you should call the company so you are not responsible for the charges that might be made.hope you get it back.

Yes, report it to both the police and your insurance company. Also, since your identity along with keys to your home were stolen, get your locks changed NOW!!

Um, if it was stolen the only way that the insurance will cover it is if you do file a police report. Otherwise how do you prove that it was stolen, and that you didn't just do it for the insurance money, or lost it.
Good luck!

I don't think reporting this to the police would benefit you. Your purse was presumably lost not stolen. I hope you know to cancel/report all your credit cards lost, and not a bad idea to change your door locks. That should cover you as far as your ins. co. - lest anything gets stolen after the fact, you will have taken measures to prevent theft.

Report it to the police without hesitation. Cancel your credit cards, change the locks on your doors, have your ignition rekeyed to your car. Yes, you can make a claim on your insurance policy, you will have to meet the deductible but you are faced with a lot of expenses already not to mention the safety factor. Secure your home, car, credit BUT DO REPORT TO THE POLICE!!!!!

Is your question whether or not you should report it to the police, or whether or not your insurance company will pay?
First, report it to both agencies. If your insurance company finds out that you weren't completely honest with them, they absolutely WILL NOT pay for anything.

Hey, it wouldn't hurt to. And I don't think your insurance will go up because you lost some keys.

YES, report it anyway. It will help you in case anyone would try to steal your identity.
