It could be Croup or it could be RSV. In either case you need to contact your doctor ASAP because both have to be treated with medication. RSV can actually be fatal if left untreated, because the child has a tough time breathing(mucous membranes swell and cause difficulty breathing).

if its like a bark get him into the cold air or your bathroom and turn on the hot water as hot as you can get the steam may help. but if his lips are turning blue or it seems like he can not breath take him to the er. when i was a baby i had the croup and had trouble breathing i was taken to the er and put under a steam tent until it cleared up and was also giving medicine while i was there its a scary thing.

Now that it's morning call the doctor. It could be croup which is scarey but not dangerous. If he doesn't change color, they don't get really excited at the emergency room.

It's also possible he does have something in his throat. Let us know what the doctor says.

It could be reflux my baby has it but my baby also has asthma. If it continues please take him to the doctors to make sure. If it is reflux you can put a pillow under his mattress so he is slightly raised and keep him upright for 30 minutes after he eats. If he is formula fed you can thicken up his formula. I breast feed so that wasnt an option for me. As far as asthma my baby is on a nebulizer. Good luck.

If it sound like a bark or something about like that then it could have been croup. If I were you I would call the pediatrician and let them know, they will more then likely want to see him and check him out. Good Luck!!
