Why would anyone want to be humane to slugs? Do you humanely trap and release flies or roaches in your house? Kill the buggers and get it over with. There must be a dozen slug killing compounds available at any Home Depot, Lowes or True Hardware. We only need to be humane to animals that are cute or tasty!

Mke a barrier around whatever is is you need to protect with any of the following:
Lint from the dryer
Lave rock
Copper sulfate or copper strips
Wrmwood, mints, tansy, lemon balm mulch
Coffee grounds
Rosemary

surriund your house with salt, seems wierd but the slugs smell it and run there little #!^&* away.
