I am a postgraduate in Psychology from India and would like to undergo training in psychoanalysis. So anybody have information about affordable, least expensive training institutes in psychoanalysis. Location can be anywhere. My preferred course is one that related to child analysis and psychotherapy.

Thanks

Try getting a position at a state hospital. You will get experience that you would not get any place else. My mother is a retired nurse. She did her psych training at the state hospital that is referred to as "The End of the Road". It is the place that they send the most severely mentally ill patients. She says get felt she was ready for anything when she left.

There are several relatively low cost options in New York

Post-Graduate Center for Mental Health will give you a stipend to train. You treat people for money while a training candidate.

IPTAR and New York Freudian Society are also low cost, but do not give you a break on tuition. And the most expensive part of any training is your training analysis, although some analysts will see you for a reduced fee.

Specifically for child analysis, I recommend New York Freudian Society, since they have a specialty training in that area.

Good luck.
