On the day the French were better - by a long way in the first 20 minutes. However I think the Irish side (with O'Driscoll playing) are a better Team. Yesterdays result was a fair reflection of the game - As someone has already pointed out, you MUST play for the full 80 minutes. Thought the Irish scrum half was excellent however and O'Gara will be looking towards another Lions trip if he plays like that every game. Maybe one day the Irish will manage to live up to all the promise they show. I would like to say I felt sorry for them but as my team got beaten by the scotch I am not feeling very generous in defeat. Scotland were awful but Wales were worse.
France must now be favourites for the championship - although England are also unbeaten.....
Wales for the wooden spoon???

Oh, how it hurt, head in hands glaring to the ground in the hogan stand, listening to the french sing. In all fairness it was an exciting game, im an avid irish supporter, but on the day france did play better. The better team won on the day, and thats that. Ireland, however, WILL win the triple crown. But for Ireland, one big plus to take away, is that we were'nt good, france were the superior team(only marginally, mind) so we have nothing to fear in September when we play again, we can win if we hit the ground running, for the first twenty minutes the lads hit the ground on their collective arses on sunday. IRELAND CAN BE THE SUPERIOR TEAM!! BRING ON THE WORLD CUP!!

I think I agree. It was always going to be very tight and Ireland should have been paying a bit more attention at the end.
France were all over them in the first half and Ireland's tackling was apalling! When Ireland did get the upper hand using a bit of power they didn't turn it into points.
France also missed two very easy kicks and hit the post with a drop goal.

Agreed. On the day the Irish were very disappointing and the French took their few chances superbly well. The ref wasn't all that convincing. That peculiar-looking bloke with the cross of StGeorge overcoat at the England/Italy match was sadly missed, we needed a spectacle of some sort!

Both teams had periods when they dominated. Ireland lost because they could not get the ball from the restart after they scored their late penalty...plus the forwards could not tackle or get near the little winger who scored the match winning try. It could really have gone either way just like the french drop goal that hit the upright it bounced back out but could have gone over.

Ireland weren't robbed..the truth is that they almost got very lucky. But France were much the better team throughout the match, and it would have been a travesty if they had been beaten.

Find it hard to argue with that,Still felt sorry for all the plastic paddies after the game.(You know the ones who's great aunt's next door neighbour's second cousin came from Galway so they are automatically Irish,You usually see them on St Patricks day Or when England aren't doing too well)

Ireland earned the win in the second half but were unable to put it beyond France. It was their own fault not anything great on France's part.

Yeah, France deserved to win, they scored more points.
That's the aim of the game.
Ireland were stupid to take the last kick that they did.
They should have gone for the corner, then tried to get a try.
Opting for the kick showed no confidence, so France deserved the win.
