is the Jeffersonian museum real???

I don't think it is, because that is more likely to be the Smithsonian. The background that they use for that building is actually on the Univesity of Southern California campus. The labs are entirely a set.

The Jeffersonian Institution is not a real place...it is based off the real life Smithsonian Institution, which is an educational and research institute and associated museum complex, administered and funded by the government of the United States.

I believe so. It is based on the lead character's real life author and her work with the FBI.
