My word, that's an enigma!

As everyone else here - I too am confused ..... however am going to hazard a couple of answers.....
If it's a credit contract, then there's no need for the husband to sign .... however the husband should beware because in law he is responsible for his wife's debts....
If it's a rental contract, then although there may be an assumption the wife is signing for herself AND her husband, in fact the opposite is true .... and she will be the only legal tenant (strangely the reverse is true when the husband signs .....)
If it's any other agreement, then the husband has no automatic right of being involved and therefore 'responsible' for the subject of the agreement .... the wife is accepted as being and will be held as solely responsible .....
hope the above helps!

He didn't ask the husband because the wife is an easier target. Go see a solicitor about it for your own sanity. I truly believe he is doing something sneaky here. If you own a rented property jointly with him it sounds like he got your wife to sign away your rights.

I would be curious as well. If the husband didn't sign he may not be held responsible.

So does your question! I assume you're looking for a divorce and the 'he' is a lawyer - based on carelessness of the question - if I was your husband I'd be insisting that I sign it!!!
