If your major problem is stuff like this, here's a little help:

When you see something like "3(a+1)" that usually means that you're suppose to apply the multiplication to both "a" and "1."

In other words:

3(a+1) is (3 x a) + (3 x 1) = 3a + 3

See?

So, on the left, you have a + 3a + 3 or 4a + 3

So, your equation is 4a + 3 = 2a

Next, you want to get the variables on one side and the numbers on the other, so... subtract 4a from both sides.

4a + 3 - 4a = 2a - 4a
3 = -2a

Now, divide by -2

3 / -2 = -2a / -2
-1.5 = a

Got it?

Distributive property:

x(y+z) = xy + xz

In this case

a+3(a+1) = 2a
a+(3a)+(3*1) = 2a
4a + 3 = 2a
4a - 2a + 3 = 2a - 2a
2a + 3 = 0
2a + 3 - 3 = 0 -3
2a = -3
divide by 2
a = -3/2
a = -1.5

a + 3(a + 1) = 2a

a + 3a + 3 = 2a

4a + 3 = 2a

4s + 3 - 2a = 2a - 2a

2a + 3 = 0

2a + 3 - 3 = 0 - 3

2a = - 3

2a/2 = - 3/2

a = - 3/2

a = 1 1/2

a = 1.5

the rate might be $nine plus taxs considering that there's 15 in each and every so 15 instances eight might be one hundred twenty then upload 15 so you're going to have adequate so it might be nine applications so nine X 15 is one hundred thirty five you're going to have five left over so the rate can be $nine
