Frankly, I can't stand them. I was a huge fan of their music, but was horrified by Natalie Maines' disrespectful remarks about the President. I am honestly thrilled about their awards last night. Why? Because they won only on hype- not talent. There is NO WAY they can EVER do anything else to top this. Hopefully they will just disappear, feeling vindicated with their little gold statues. The album was mediocre, at best. There were so many others who truly deserved to win. I'm sorry for all of the other artist who were cast to the side so a point could be made. As the short, fat one said, "The voters made a statement about freedom of speech!".... honey, that's not what the awards are about. Enjoy your five minutes, Chicks. It's ALL OVER NOW.

TOKYOLiv.....
I believe you missed the point. I believe in freedom of speech- all freedoms. My point is that this album was not good- it received bad reviews. I purchased several of their previous albums and really enjoyed them. They used this controversy to cash in at the Grammy's, they did not deserve to win all the awards they won. It's just as simple as that.
I'm saddened by the fact that you're speaking for the military. Frankly, I don't believe you- iif you were actually a veteran, you would know what a dangerous thing it is to bad mouth our commander and chief overseas. It undermines our military (the one that you claim to be a part of.)

I like the Dixie chicks music always have. I do not look at there politics or if any band I like is "in" at the moment. I really do not care what they have done, or where they did it.

I like to think I have my own mind and can think for myself. I do not need others telling me what music I can like or not like.
Evidently you were not a huge fan, what is it about there music that changed so much? They opened the door to many women, and started the movement to bring back old time country music. What is so wrong with this? They were and will always be a over night success. They were still booked for weddings when they hit it big. Did they cancel there small town wedding dates, no they kept the dates and showed up even though they were top on the charts. How short our memory is!

Politics whoppie-Natalie was just a couple years a head of everyone else who is hating what the president is doing, and these other celebrities have been or are now voicing there opinions. Many artists voice there opinions - everyone has opinions.

I do not agree with everything Natalie has done in her personal life, or even public life. I still like there music.

Music - politics depends which one people want most.....I pick the music any day!! Just because a opinion is not popular doesn't mean one has no right to have a opinion, everyone has them! Guess Americans are not so excepting after all hu? Wonder what a true American is supposed to be, a sheep that follows the crowed or one who can think for themselves? Many are jumping on the hate the Dixie chicks band wagon. Have a great ride, someone will come along to hate more one of these days. Isn't it great to be a American....

I agree the Dixie Chicks suck I guess the short fat one doesnt remember when they couldnt GIVE an album away
This just goes to show how little these people regard the public this is similiar to the Rosie ODonnell gun control issue I guess we all just have to fend for ourselves but Rosie is so wonderful we really should give her the right to carry a gun as with most of these celebs they think a lot of things are good ideas for the public ( fortunately they arent the public) but they dont want to be held to the same standards

The music by the DC was as good as always. It is no more a measure of their talent now as when they got boy-cotted.Politics needs to stay out of music. Also that idiot DC with the big mouth needs to critize our president here in the USA not abroad.Or better yet just use that mouth to sing her pretty songs with.

Now I hope they shut up and go away... I believe is freedom of speech but we are in a war and they should stand behind their country. We have a group that are protesting on the corner about three time a week and I just think that is so sad. We need to stand behind out troop's and I why do they feel the need to protest funerals how id that going to help? These people gave up there lives for our country respect them.

5 Grammies...way to go ladies...what a proud day in America.

Can you blame the Chicks for being ashamed Bush is a Texan? Bush makes the Beverly Hillbillies look smart by comparison.

311.....Bush graduated from Yale with a C? Who'd he have to blow to earn that? Tell me how does one call themselves a Christian and send all those people to the electric chair? Lets not even discuss sending 3000 men/women home to their families in coffins...for a justifiable war?

You're not honouring soldiers by supporting Bush...you are DISRESPECTING the fact they died for nothing.

Why don't you take a look at this site and how many have died and been wounded in this senseless war...dont forget to click on the links further down to see how many OTHER people other than Americans were killed too.

Then come back and tell me how wonderful Bush is and that the Dixie Chicks should shut up. Idiots.

I'm confused.
If you dislike the Dixie Chicks so much, why would you even take the time to listen to their newest CD? ( You stated it was "Mediocre" at best).
If I hated a group as much as you say you hate them, I wouldn't waste even one minute listening to their music.
I hope they continue making GREAT music, and speaking up for what they truly believe in.

LMAO You've made very good points but I seriously doubt their wins will be enough to shut them up. I've never been able to see what is so good about their music and their opinions are just moronic to boot.

One can only hope this is the case. They won their grammy's purely out of pity. Not based on popularity, talent or album sales for sure. I hope they allmove to France where I'm sure they are adored!!
