Sean Bean is a very good actor. He seems to be a bit type-cast in American cinema as a villain. When he tries to branch out, the roles aren't that exciting -- i.e. "Flightplan." He has a decent acting range, but to see him as something other than a villain the choices are pretty limited. Mainly to more of his English films.

I hope some casting agent/director sees his potential as something other than a villain. I would like to see him in an action movie or dramatic male lead. Maybe something in a period setting. He was great as Richard Sharpe.

His best performances are in smaller movies like The Field and When Saturday Comes.
