Duke is playing with about 2/3 of their players freshman. They are a young team and are struggling against teams that have more experience at that level. If the players stay for another year or two then they should be a strong team. I don't think they will go far in the tourney IF they even qualify.

Actually, if you are a true Duke fan, you would come to the realization that the level of talent currently on the team is the worst in many years, and possibly the worst ever. Paulus is terrible and he always will be (mentally he may have what it takes, but even PGs need some sort of athletic ability)...McRoberts is a total pushover. You call this stiff, a "big guy"......sure he is tall and can score but this kid does not have what it takes to be a good post player at the college level. He gets used on defense, and doesn't have the body to battle for the boards. Nelson and Sheyer may be able to develop into better players than Paulus and McRoberts, but I sure haven't seen anything that says they will.

The bottom line is that Duke does not have anything comparable to the players it normally has. Coach K is great, the program is great, but they are terrible this year. They got extremely lucky a few times this year, otherwise they would already have ten or so losses. As far as their talent level goes, they do not deserve to be in the tourney....but they are Duke and they will get in based on tradition........and considering they don't lose out, they should get in based on their record.

However, ANYONE in the country is capable of beating them, so I would bet on them getting put out in the first round, maybe the second at best. Go Dukies!

Plenty of teams are young and inexperienced.....but if the players are actually good, you have a chance to coach them and have them playing well by this time in the season. When your players aren't any good, it makes it tough (which is what we are seeing with Duke)

if you are a true duke fan then you would know the answer to your question. they arent experienced, they are young, and they dont have a "superstar" paulous has alot to learn about handleing the ball so he doesnt have 80 turnovers every game. and mcroberts is the only big man they have. theyll be better in a couple of years, right now they are still developing as a team and as individual players.
