So what has been re-written now to make Jesse and Al the naacp happy?... Look at Kwanza - what an insult to blacks...this was a holiday invented by Ron Karrenga while in prison. It is not even a legitimate holiday yet african americans are insulted again just as they are insulted with affirmative action or "project logic"....

hmm.... how much black history was omitted from mainstream history books? Most black people I know don't celebrate Kwanzaa. Most black people, like me, don't want to be seen as African American, we just want to be seen as Americans and treated as such. Both of my grandfathers fought in wars to protect this country, as have many others, we deserve equal recognition and respect. I understand why Affirmative Action was created, and I'm glad that it was, but now that it is no longer needed and has become an insult to minorities, as if we didn't get that little extra push or those extra points we couldn't do anything for ourselves. Its not true for us any longer, the prejudices that were there long ago are being erased, we have better educations now, we can create our own jobs if we wanted. We don't need white people thinking we are a weaker, inferior race. Its insulting for us working middle class blacks to walk into an office and see some ghetto chick at the desk rolling her eyes at customers and smacking her lips unable to speak properly.... Affirmative Action put less than qualified minorities into positions they couldn't handle. ....

"In 1967, a year after Karenga proposed this new holiday, he publicly espoused the view that "Jesus was psychotic" and that Christianity was a white religion that blacks should shun. However, as Kwanzaa gained mainstream adherents, Karenga altered his position so as not to alienate practicing Christians, then stating in the 1997 Kwanzaa: A Celebration of Family, Community, and Culture, "Kwanzaa was not created to give people an alternative to their own religion or religious holiday."

This dude was wild! I never knew it was made up. I was under the impression that it was a legitimate holiday from Africa, that's what I was told in school.

I don't believe that history is rewritten during black history month, it's just more true. I'll just ignore the rest of your ignorance.
