I want to get together a repetoire including blues and bebop - so any suggestions would be great (especially blues and bebop)

I wan't to sing more obscure so no Summertime, Autumn Leaves etc!!

I always think a true blues/jazz artist turns a piece into jazz by the talent that they hold. John Coltrane on 'My Favourite things', even Wynton Marsallis doing the classical "Prince of Denmark' . You bet your bottom dollar of Billie Halliday was still here she would make 'Let Me Entertain You' sound like a 60 year old Cole Prter classic. Rip it up and start again, give it a go,

Try anything by Billie Holiday...she is one of the best jazz singers. I suggest "Strange Fruit" and "Gloomy Sunday". Such good songs...

Have you heard of Joss Stone? You can download her new song called 'Tell Me Bout It'.
Also, you can do her one called 'You Had Me' or 'Fell In Love With A Boy'.

try little axe (skip mcdonald) "if I had my way" and coutnless others, they have a very jazzy blues album called "stone cold ohio http://realworldrecords.com/littleaxe/trackplayer/index.html
