If you want history and culture Morocco is a great place to go! Try Marrakech, Fes, Tangier....... personnaly Marrakech is my favourite. Agadir is nice but I thought it was more european than Moroccan.
As for hotels, we stayed in the hotel Kenza which was lovely, just outside the centre but still close enough (marrakech). To be honest I think you'll find most hotels are ok, I've never heard anyone who has had a bad experience.
Someone mentioned being "hassled" by beggars, people selling things etc....in Egypt this also happens in Morocco. But it's not a problem, as long as you are polite they will leave you to enjoy your holiday. Infact the locals are very helpfull and kind.
It's also a very safe country, just be cautious/use common sense as you would visiting any foreign country, especially a busy city.
If you want to know anything else just send me a message, I've been to Morocco lots of times and love it!!!
I've added some links for you, hope this helps.

Morocco is a really big place and the possibilities are almost endless. Can you tell me if you have an idea of where in Morocco you would like to visit and for how long? The most popular resort town for tourists Agadir. From here you can travel to a few places such as the coastal town of Essaouira or further out to Marrakech plus a few places closer. Agadir has plenty of nightclubs and pubs/bars but drinks are very expensive. Dating will not really be possible with Moroccan girls although you certainly will be able to chat with them if yuo can speak Arabic or French.

Marrakesh is a town that sums up all of Morocco's incredible North African charm, view it with hotelbye . The city's title presented the basis for the title of the nation itself, punctuation out that town's value down the ages. Within the bustle of the city core you'll find old and new clashing and blending, which could produce some tourists almost dizzy. Snake charmers and clean store touts equally contend for your interest amid a noisy, colorful bustle that encapsulates Morocco's lively soul. For all guests, Marrakesh's labyrinth Medina (Old City) area may be the town's celebrity attraction. The thin alleyways certainly are a kaleidoscope of colors, smells and sounds. Is likely to function as the sightseeing highlight of one's journey; as well as the merely wandering is supposed to hectic maze.

A friend of mine went to Agadir and she said it was great. We went to Egypt last year and got hassled on the beach every two mins to buy something. At least that doesn't seem to happen in Morocco. Take the plunge and go www.tripadviser.com is the one I go for.

Don't go by yourself being a women. I went recently with my boyfriend. It can be dangerous especially in Casablanca there are prostitutes in the clubs . And men are pretty bold in Casablanca they wont hesitate to come up to you. It's a beautiful country don't get me wrong but travel with people or in tours.
