My girlfriend is on the pill and has been for the paast 6 monthes she has her periods on time every month and they useually last between 3 to 4 days on this month she came on as usuall but two days after coming of she started another period and it has lasted for 6 days why has this happened ??? i would appreiciate any comments

Her body is not tolerating the pill she's on. Tell her to go to the doc and get a different pill. I took the pill for 10 yrs and I took different kinds because from one day to the next, my body no longer liked that particular pill. She just needs to get a pill with a different hormone level in it. Don't worry, it's normal, she's fine.

it could be just a heavy period, a build up of blood, or as someone said..stress...but If she is worried she should consult her doctor or a well woman clinic, just to be safe.
