She used to sleep through the night just fine but the last week or so she wakes up at the same time every morning and is still asleep but fussing/crying. She is not wide awake or anything. We give her the pacifier and she goes right back to sleep but might wake up again 30 minutes later and we have to do the same thing or she'll just stay asleep and we're getting up just the one time. Is it too soon for her to be teething? Is something else waking her up? We have white noise in the background already. She puts herself to sleep when we put her down at night initially. We don't give her the pacifier at that time. Only in the middle of the night when we want to get back to sleep. What could be causing this and what can help her sleep better?

One of the other people said that kids don't need alot of sleep, and that happens to be inaccurate. The doctor said even my 6 year old should be getting 11-12 hours or sleep at night. Which being that young, she probably won't sleep quite that long straight through. Could she be getting hungry. You might try giving her a bigger bottle before bed. Is she eating solids yet? She also may be teething. You might try giving her the pacifier when you first put her to bed. I think its good to use a binky anyways. I read that using a pacifier while they are sleeping reduces the risk or SIDS by 80 or 90 %.

She is probably beginning to teeth. Try not giving her the pacifier and just letting her fuss. It'll mean a few sleepless nights, but if she puts herself to sleep at the beginning of the night, I think she should be able to go back to sleep on her own. This is assuming she is not hungry or in need of a diaper change. You might also want to check with your pediatrician to get her advice. Good Luck!

lady...all i am going to say is "i think your discomfort"!! each and every time i'm getting my son found out...he variations!!! he's very virtually 5 months now and he purely went through an same situation. for more beneficial or less a week he would wake through the nighttime and prefer to devour at like 3 or 4 am - even as previously he become snoozing through! We did commence him on solids yet i don't think of that has some thing to do with some thing...i imagine it truly is a personal decision! at present although, he were ingesting extremely some formula and become hungry plenty so we upped his formula and infant food (previously we were purely fidgeting with food and practising, yet now i'm getting more beneficial intense)...besides, very last nighttime he become asleep at 9, had his very last bottle and some cereal round 7:40 5 and continues to be snoozing (it is totally virtually 7:30am)...did not make a peep all nighttime! So, i'm questioning he would were dealing with a boom spurt and now he's leveling out or some thing?! besides, i imagine a similar element will be occurring inclusive of your son! So - do purely besides the reality that you opt for to do to make him chuffed and he receives himself lower back at the same time quickly! solid success! :)

This is a sign of growth & development. It is normal that they take one step backward before they jump forward!!

If she can’t fall back to sleep on her own, try speaking softly or patting her first. Keep the lights low, and talk softly and as little as possible. Try not to turn this break into playtime; the more relaxed she is, the more likely she’ll fall back to sleep soon. However, if this continues, its best to check with your pediatrician.

I have a 4 month old son too. Dont worry... it wont be too long before she gets back to normal schedule!!

My son was sleeping through the night at 2-1/2 weeks...my Dr said that if he ever started waking up, which he did at 4 months, to giv ehim a tablespoon of rice cereal before bed. So I gave him a tablespoon before bed, then nursed him, and he started sleeping through the night again.

dont put her to bed too early. the number one complaint i hear from parents is that thier kids wake up too early... most of those parents put thier kids to bed at 6 or 7 pm too. most people think kids need a whole lot of sleep, but really they only need the standard 8 to 9 hours. (unless they are sick or A newborn) so try putting her to bed at the same time as you go to bed and see what happens.
