Like a snow balls chance in hell!!! Forget it!! The Cardinals lucked out. It won't happen again. 83-78 is not a world championship caliber team!

I'm tired of these people who make fun of their 83 win record last year and those who say they had their 15 min or time for another person... the two previous years the cards have had 100 win seasons... so isn't it weird the year the won they had a worse record than when they were statisticly a better team? its not a fluke the cards are a great team... and this is not about fame... its about how good you are and how long you can play at that caliber... if they have the gas and the pitching there is a good chance they make it but there are so many teams who knows who's going to win but the cards could win... so what if they won last year it doesn't make them less worthy to win this year. if they play their hearts out anyone who wins deserves it. even if its back to back... i like the Yankees as well as the cards i appreciate that they were able to win so much and they deserved it they spent the cash to put the best players out there to win the games they needed to win... you cant blame them for being good... The cards have a great shot this year they just need a few question marks to show potential and you may just see a repete in 07...

it is in all likelihood because in the course of the first 1/2 of the twentieth century St. Louis had 2 communities. The Cardinals in the nationwide League and the Browns in the american League. in the experience that they used STL to abbreviate the Cardinals human beings would confuse that with the Browns so SLA and SLN were used. once the Browns moved to Baltimore in the 50's it grew to grow to be beside the point yet in view that some web pages provide historic previous because the start of baseball they opt for a thanks to distinguish. Likewise you'll now and again see CHA for the White Sox, NYA for the Yankees, and LAN for the Dodgers as well as different abbreviations that do not fairly make sense in the present day.

Looking at the rest of the National League, with the exception of 2-3 clubs, there is no reason to believe that the Cardinals will not at least win the NL pennant and go to the World Series again.

They will have just as good of a shot as they did last year. The lineup is a bit better actually. Everybody questions the starting rotation but look who we replaced. Weaver, Marquis, and Suppan. Not exactly Cy Young contenders here. Wells, Reyes, Wainright, or Franklin could do even better than this trio of mediocrity. Don't fret Cards fans. Our rotation looks pretty good compared to the rest of the division's rotations.

The Cardinals have as good a shot as anyone. However, it is very difficult to win back to back World Series championships as the other posters have mentioned.

The Cardinals have lost 3 of their starting pitchers to free agency, etc. (Marquis, Suppan and Weaver). There is a lot of reconstruction to be done on the starting rotation. Realistically, I do not think they will make it to the World Series this year.

It is so hard to repeat and doubly hard when you lose pitching like St Louis has lost.
