I said when I have sex (still a virgin) that I will have to check out both the boy and myself before we make the desicion and the week before we have sex. Is it werid that I think that way, or am I just protecting myself?

You sure it's not to extreme? Cause I mean I just want to know, sides the week before can tell me if he has been with anyne else , so if they have it I dont get it.
And when I say both of us get checked, I mean after the first time, he will get checked the first time though.
And I havent given oral eith,er i just think about it.

Even with a weeks time to consider, you can't possibly know all there is to know about a guy you want to have sex with. You need to use all kinds of birth control (I used two kinds and never got pregnant but even that is not 100% foolproof, it's just the best you can do). You need to use condoms all the time because you never know what might be transmitted, even from someone you trust. There's a reason why marriage is sacred - if both people in a marriage are faithful, there's a lot of security and safety. But people who tell you they are thinking about you as if they were married to you are lying - they actually ought to be married to you to say that - and everything else out there is like 'playing in traffic'! You take your chances and you can lose big time.

You are a very smart person. Today in the world you never know who has what. there are so many diseases out there we need to stay protected. the disease aids is spreading lik a wild fire. I'm 19 and a virgin. when i decide to have sex we both must get tested first then we will go from there. the best way to be safe is to wear a condom and get tested.

You were told you have a good head on your shoulders because you know better than having sex without protection .
That is VERY smart, playing it safe !
And you're not "weird" for playing it safe. I do the same thing. It's much better to be safe than sorry !

Good decision, but they might lie about the results. Use protection as well.
Having sex is a risky business, not just physically, so choose the right bloke. If you have doubts don't do it, if they are a good bloke and like you for you and not just your body they should wait, coz you're worth it. If they don't wait till you are OK with it then you had a lucky escape because they were not worth it.

Not weird at all!! The good thing is, that the person that you would be with would either have to understand it or you'd know he's a jerk ~ saving you from giving yourself away to a creep.
Just make sure that you still use protection.

if you are trully a virgin you won't have to check yourself...if you've done everything BUT that then it's a really smart thing to do.... After all, you can get STDs from oral sex as well!

No that is a very good thing. When you do decide to have sex make sure your partner is clean (no STDs) and use protection. You are making a very responsible decision.

Just make sure he uses a condom and make sure you are on birth control if you are in a realationship where sex is possible. While using a condom helps, sometimes they break, and it's good to be on birth control also.
