any suggestions?

i'm trying to get the smell out of my diaper pail. i've tried bleach. does anyone have any good suggestions to get rid of it or at least lessen it. (its a diaper champ) thanks.

put some bicarb of soda and a few drops of your fav aromatherapy oil - leave in the bottom and when you put a diaper in it - the smell of the oil will come out and the bicarb will absorb the smell of the diaper.

wash out when you empty the bag and replace the bicarb and oil

I basically tossed the diaper pail (well actually gave it away) since it always smelled awful to me! Now I just use our regular garbage can in the kitchen and mix the diapers with the other trash and it actually doesn't smell at all anymore (that is probably because we change the bag about everyday). I think the diaper pail was the biggest waste of money I spent on my baby.

we use the kitchen garbage bags that are made to keep odor to a minimum, I think they are called 'odor shield' and they really help. We also spray it down with Lysol spray every time we change the bag. How old is your baby? I ask because once they start eating table food, the key is to flush the "you know what" down the toilet. I know that defeats the purpose of having a diaper pail but that made a huge difference for us.
