Minimize a window to your taskbar
ALT, SPACEBAR, N
Maximize a window so it takes up your whole desktop
ALT, SPACEBAR, X
Restore a window so it's visible but doesn't take up your whole desktop
ALT, SPACEBAR, R
Close a window
ALT+F4
Switch to the last window you had open
ALT+TAB
Switch to any window
Hold down the ALT key, and press TAB until the window you want is active.
And my Fav is F11. This will maximize fully, giving you the most viewing area.

In what? Windows?
WINDOWS KEY + Shift + M maximizes all Windows. Otherwise you can Alt+Tab to whatever you'd like.
Ediot (To the guy below me): I never said Shift+M, I said [WINDOWS KEY+Shift+M] The Windows key is located between your left Ctrl and left Alt. Regardless, that was just an alternate suggestion as Alt+Tab is the best solution.
F11 is not a standard function, it's an Windows/Internet Explorer function as far as I know.

my pc is programmed in the type of fashion that once you press the right actual nook of the mousepad, it "shrinks" the show, urgent it again maximizes it, and bottom actual nook is for minimizing the completed show. type of like improving the aspect scroll on mousepads. possible through administration panel on vista.

Hi there! The (I presume only) way to this is:
Alt+Space and then 'x' or the underlined option, dependent of what language your Windows is in.
