No question...Dallas. Northerners are a little contemptuous of Southerners, especially at the university level. Being Asian won't matter, it will be your slow-talking that will be a source of ridicule. You will also have to get used to their accent (which is heavy) and their rapid-fire delivery. That could be difficult in classroom situations. Overall, Boston is cold, over-crowded, full of traffic and stress and stressed out people. Living there was the worst 8 months of my life. I couldn't wait to get out. You'll be much happier in Dallas, IMHO.

Good luck in whatever choice you make! We need great doctors!

I went to optometry school in Boston-- and I'm very glad I experienced there. The city is geared toward students. I think there was a survey a while ago that said that the average age of the city is 28!! It is expensive for students, but with some looking you can live relatively inexpensively. Restaurants and bars ALWAYS have student specials. I STRONGLY recommend Boston for any college student.

I am from Los Angeles, I live in Amarillo now, but I spent over a year in Houston.

Dallas does not even compare to Boston.

I want a postcard when you get to Boston!

We moved to a north Dallas suburb over a twelve months in the past, from Southern California. the fee of residing IS alot more cost-effective right here, and the known of the housing is 10X more beneficial efficient! i imagine the persons are somewhat effective, it is totally low-crime, and the known of residing is tremendous! I choose i'd moved right here years in the past! ... i do not even imagine the elements is undesirable - it isn't any hotter than Southern California, and the humidity in Dallas isn't that undesirable (compared to Houston, Austin - or perhaps the East Coast). you'll actually income from the in trouble-free words a million or 2 days of snow in the iciness! ... you would attempt searching in Plano or Frisco for an homestead. they're higher cities, with a much wider form of housing expenditures, and some thing for actually everyone! more than a number of procuring & tremendous eating places and in trouble-free words 20-1/2-hour to Dallas. McKinney or Allen are a touch more beneficial north, and function more beneficial of a small-city sense; and homes would also be more cost-effective there. it truly is a lot less congested, and that i love that section even more beneficial:) .... i in my opinion use a cellular canine groomer, and so do extremely some the persons the position I stay:) there is alot of structure right here (and not in any respect union), so your bf ought to in all likelihood be able to get a job with a builder ... WELCOME to Texas!

If I were from Texas I would choose Boston for a change of pace.

If you're already from Texas, get out of Texas and see more of the country and experience more of the world. Boston is more difficult to get around, and probably more expensive, but there is much more history and culture to experience there, you're closer to NY and Washington , D.C and the seafood is PHENOMENAL. It would be interesting for you to live near the ocean and experience that, too.

why not a smaller town? I can drive 10 miles in 10 minutes, there is no such thing as traffic jams, and city traffic. O yeah, my town has never had a murder either, no locking doors, kids can play down the street, ect... Kind of a utopia, pretty close anyway.. I live 6 miles from the biggest college in my state, thats right 6-7 minutes to class
