Anheuser Busch uses water from the Mississippi to make their beer. A lot of other food and drink makers also use river water as an ingredient in their products.

Several food companies (such as General Mills and Pillsbury) originally used waterpower from the river to grind grain into flour. Today they mostly use electricity or gas to power their mills, but the companies were founded on water power.
