These are not meant to be offensive, quite to the contrary I LOVE accents. These are just the way I hear accents.
Brits drop their h's and and 'ite becomes 'oyt'. "Royt you ah then 'arry."
New Zealanders have very long e's on everything. "I hit me heed on the beed".
French are very 'vowel-y' and speak in the backs of their throats.
Germans are gutteral and sound like they're clearing their throats alot.
Polish make a lot of 'zhounsh' sounding words.
Chinese are very sing-songy.
Japanese sound 'clipped' to me.
What do Americans sound like in your opinion?

Sorry about the stereotypes. I know not every Brit sounds like an East Londoner and I know there are MANY different American accents, I'm a Texan. I'm just asking how it sounds to YOU.

It obviously depends on the place you are at, places like Boston and Washington have what I like to call Preppy English...looong words, melodious sounds, while Texas has that cowboy accent that I just can't help but love, shorten their words.
What cracks me up is English speakers trying to speak Spanish, the rrrrr sound just gets me every time...
Carrrrrne asada...lol.
Hell ow ma frr end, ha ow ew doo in?

I'm Australian. There are many American accents. Many Americans "announciate" too much, so that they sound too slow - I can fall asleep waiting for them to finish their sentence. Some Southerners have a wierd ping-pong sound that sounds funny. On the news, American presenters sound very serious and professional. There's a strange Californian accent that sounds like surf-talk, which just sounds stupid. Americans generally pronounce "R" everywhere, even inserting it where there are no Rs. This slow-speaking R-inserting is very distinctive and immediately indentifies someone as (North)American. It can be hard to differentiate between Americans and Canadians. Another distinctive feature of Americans is that they talk really loud, almost shouting. This is a bit of a generalisation, because it is possible that it's the loud talking Americans who stand out. But there is a common thing Australians say about Americans, "Why do they have to talk so loud!?"
