What do guys, or other girls think about a girl with her lip pierced. I am just an average girl, not punk rock, goth or anything like that, but I just want other peoples opinions before I go and do anything.

when i was in high school, i knew a couple of people who had their lip pierced, who were NOT punk rock, or goth.
a lip piercing will not make you dirty, nasty, or any other of the rude comments that you are bound to see from people on here.
i would rather someone get their lip pierced because they wanted to, than to let other people be the deciding factor.
as long as you have weighed the pros and cons of getting this done, you should do it, and not pay attention to people who want to stereotype you into a certain group of people.
if you are not trashy to begin with, then a piercing will NOT make you trashy.
anyone who says otherwise is just someone who is afraid of things that are different.
if someone is shallow enough not to go out with you because of a piercing, then they aren't good enough for you anyways!

You are considering doing something that later may not suit your style. Piercing is a fad you go through, only to grow out of it and you still have it. It's like doing something permanent acting on an emotion which will pass. I see tattoos the same way. Overall, I don't think it's an improvement. It won't make you look BETTER, so why go through the expense and the grief?
Employers don't consider it professional for a career image.
I would say if you're looking to enhance your image, focus on grooming, not adding hardware to your body. Get your hair as healthy and shiny as you can, spend big bucks on a great cut, work out to improve your muscle tone and curves, focus on your nutrition. Pay attention to your nails and feet. Get your complexion flawless and learn makeup tricks to maximize your beauty. I'd say whiten your teeth, smile more, practice great eye contact. Take an interest in others around you and pour out kindness. Those things are improving yourself. Don't add hardware to your body.

You have to find your own bliss! Do what you want. Here is a good way to test how people will react, and how well you will like it. Buy a small, inexpensive hoop earring, cut off the part that would go through the pierced part of your ear and hook it to your lip (pinch it in a little to get it to stay). Wear it for a couple of days, see how you feel about it as well as what people think. If you like it, go for it, if you don't - no harm, no foul. And remember, a piercing isn't permanent - if you get sick of it, take the ring out and it will heal in a week or two!

I guess I can say I'm average too... and I want to pierce my lip also. You know you shouldn't care what other people say, if you think you are going to look good go for it! ... Don't let other peoples opinion influence you on what you are going to do!... Many of my friends are telling me to do it and many others say NOT to do it... but I mean I appreciate their concern and opinions,but in the end I'm the one who's going to be wearing...I hope you take my advice into considerations and GOOD LUCK!...

I really don't like them. No matter what you're wearing, you're going to give the impression that you're usually punk or goth anyway. The only facial peircings I like besides the normal ear ones are the very dainty, discreet nose ones. They have like a tiny diamond or other gem.

Well, personally i think they look trashy!!!
How old are you?? And, are you just wanting to do it because your friends are, or maybe just because you think it might look "cool"???
I would NEVER do it. I usually don't advise people on what to do, but since you asked, i would say PLEASE wait, and think about it some more, before doing something so drastic!!!

well my bf has one and hes not punk or anything either hes actually prep I am not a big fan of them..but w/e its ok!

she is right,,, it will make you look trashy. dont get one or else you will regret it for the rest of your life, people willl not only think your trshy but they will also think you are wierd, and if you are just doing it to make it look like you are tough or something then get your belly button pieerced or something.
