No and contrary to some suggestions its not that dangerous or difficult to work with. Good heavens barbed wire is basis harmless stuff i have been doing farm fences for years (without gloves insurance or anything else) and I am a female! The dogs jump the fences without injuries and the small dogs in hot pursuit of rabbits or roo, go straight through it with out any trouble. I think its all in the mind... I once met a priest who was pretty carelessly arranging some very thorny roses for someone at the hospital, i was horrified that he didn't get hurt and asked him how he he didn't get hurt. He explained that in the monastery the grew roses and sold the flowers, every day they go and pick them and as they picked them they would place the stems in their arm pit because the skin is soft an mould itself around the thorns- they would be walking around with huge bunches of thorny roses in their armpits without getting prickled. He said to me that everything is like that and when he picks up the roses he makes his hand passive and kind of floppy so that it wont resist the thorns and applies only enough pressure to hold them so that the skin Will bend around the thorn. I have lots of roses and tried it out and it works so now I the person horrify everyone else by grabbing hold of thorny roses, prickly echidnas, barbed wire, hawthorn branches without a care in the world or a as much as scratch to show for it.

Insurance for working with barbed wire? Never herd of such a thing and been mending fences most all my life.
If you have to work with barbed wire it is good to have a medical kit around, that stuff is nasty.....Dosnt stop most stubborn critters either, just tears them up. Everything on the other side of the fence is better then what is inside the pasture they are in....dang critters!

Never heard of such a thing unless you mean Workers Comp. I do have a bit of barbed wire trivia. Barbed wire is illegal in many affluent parts of the country where fox hunting is common. Rich folk don't want their horses and themselves cut up jumping fence. Same privilege doesn't apply to poor areas when coon hunting is the sport. RScott
