That's going to depend on the woman, of course! Frankly, I like both; to me, they fit different moods. On bottom feels more romantic, relinquishing control, I suppose. On top is more fun, more kinky.
Most heterosexual women don't get the choice; straight sex is often only seen as missionary style, man-on-top. Also, a lot of women feel exposed when on top and don't like it for that reason. But at the same time, being on top usually allows for more control over speed and depth of penetration, and can allow for better G-spot stimulation than on bottom, so that's a plus for that.
I guess I just can't say which position is more prevalent or more enjoyed by women; again, it just depends.

Depends totally on preferences, and I don't think it's to do with everyday personality either. I like on the bottom, but normally I am very dominant when I;m in a relationship. I guess being underneath in sex maybe balances it out!
