Just try carrying each weight at the local pro shop to see how much you can handle. Most people use 12-16 lbs. 1for their bowling balls to start. It's just their preference and a matter of comfort.

I started out with 16 lbs., then dropped one pound of weight every 10 years so far (25 years bowling), so now I'm at 14 lbs. Nowadays, the coverstocks and cores of bowling balls will help you out on the lane even if your equipment's weight is lighter.

Good luck!

EASY... if its to heavy for u then choose another one....

i like to use the smaller ball cause if not then the bigger ball pulls on my shoulder when i roll it down the lane and i pay for it the next day..... but its hard cause my fingers are bigger then the holes in the small balls so i have to go to the medium balls...
So i don't think there is a way to choose the right ball for u unless u get it made special for u.

ummmm duh - you carry a ball if it seems to heavy - get a smaller one ... if you are purchasing it online however ... go to a bowling place ---- play one game using a couple different balls ... and see which one you like more? the weight of the ball is right on the ball. If you are a man i would suggest a 12 or 15 pound ball.

Chose a ball that fits comfortably in your hand. You don't want anything that is too heavy, as this will cause your arms to become sore. Also, make sure that your fingers fit in the holes.

whatever weight you are comfortable with, too light will have you lobbing the ball, too heavy will have you releasing it too soon. You will have to practice with different weights to find the best one for you, don't make the mistake of being 'macho' and using the heaviest ball. Everyone is different.

you just choose what is comfortable to you, what ever you can handle. I like to think the heavier you can handle the better. I like a nice heavy ball.
