Ok who else besides me thinks that the grammys are just completely crap. They have the Dixie chicks whose songs are not even played on country radio as top country artist and record. What is that about? I think the awards shows have just gone completely to the dogs. They certainly are not basing it on album sales. They could not sell a record to a country fan if they were giving it to them with free tires. So how much do we believe that the grammys are based on facts. figures and fan opinion? I have no confidence in the grammys anymore

Let's face it, shall we? The Dixie Chicks are a joke, and the only reason that I would invite them to a show like the Grammys is because I would love to just sit back and watch them make asses out of themselves. They tie their own noose every damn time.

ESPECIALLY the oompa-loompa looking one with the big mouth. She just doesn't get it.

The Grammys were never based on sales....ever. Country stations don't usually play the Chixie ***** because they said they don't like to be considered country so the stations that play country said "Okay if you don't want to be labeled country then we won't play you."

Grammys are selected by the record companies themselves and are pure opinion. Here's how it works..

The process begins with members and record companies submitting entries, which are then screened for eligibility and category placement. The Academy's voting members, all involved in the creative and technical processes of recording, then participate in (1) the nominating process that determines the five finalists in each category; and (2) the final voting process which determines the GRAMMY winners.

Bush said he didn't even know who the Dixie Chicks were (think he likes folk music) most of the hoopla came from country fans who though that protesting Bush in front of an audience in another country was tasteless as if they were experts on what is classy or not.

I think the Grammy's were definately making a political statement last night. Dixie Chicks for best album of the year? I probably would have said that on their first... and maybe their second with Cowboy Take me Away... but this album seemed rushed... and not as good.

Nonetheless.. I am glad they won. Everyone is sick of Bush, and I can't believe that he stomped around trying to end their career. They are WAY to talented ... and I am glad that the Grammy's stood up to him to say so.

Next year they will go back to record sales I am sure.

It's great that the Grammy's are finally NOT so obsessed with album sales.

It allows actual talent to be showcases over mass-market appeal. Just because their personaly politics don't mix with the commercial requirements of "country" (pop) stations doesn't mean they aren't extremely talented musicians.

With everyone so down on George Bush these days their Grammys are sort of an apology to them. Natalie even said as much in her thank you speech.

The Dixie Chicks screwed up BIG TIME by bad mouthing our president. I know of NO ONE who listens to them anymore. When they realized that everyone does not think their opinions were worth listening to, they saw the money disappearing. Now they have PR men working over time to restore their credibility!!!!

I love what they stand for and if more people who were truly artists would stop puking what they think uneducated people want to hear we might actually have less hell to pay in a hot potato politically challenged atmosphere.
