Jeez, seems many people forget the tear-jerker in Star Trek II, Spock's "death" Lots of people cried for that.
Both are great movies.
Empire definitely had better action and special effects.
Though the space battle in Khan was quite cool, like a submarine movie. More tension.
Acting? No contest.
Which scream was better?
KHAAAAANNNN! with shaking fist
or
Nooo! with friggin tears and crying
Which is the more famous line
I am your father!
or
The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one.
I'll have to vote for Empire, after all the tit-for-tat, Empire still trumps Khan with one key element.
YODA!!

I don't think there is any comparison. The TV series is 100 times better than that movie. Star Wars is about as good as the Star Trek TV series and Empire Strikes back is the best Star War film after the original.
BTW, Lucas did "American Graffiti" with Ron Howard, Richard Dreifus, Harrison Ford, etc. just before the first Star Wars.
At that time, none of those actors were well known, except for Ronnie Howard who was Opie on the orginal Andy Griffiths show when I was a kid.

Well since Wrath of Khan was the only Star Trek movie I saw (wasn't that Ricardo Montalban) and Empire Strikes Back was my least fave of the Star Wars movies, I would have to go with Wrath of Khan. But if you go by the experts, I think they would go with Empire since it brought to light a lot that was wondered about in Star Wars.

Empire Strikes Back definitely. How can you not feel chilled by Darth Vader's voice in that dark outfit of his? You can almost feel the fear of the Commander of his ship when he is reporting to Darth Vader. The movie has an eerie, menacing and dark feel to it which gives it so much depth and lifts viewers out of the feel-good, bubble gum type feel of the first movie. I admit the first time I saw it, I did not like it very much because at some level it disturbed me, but after the passage of time, it is the one movie out of the whole Star Wars saga that I really want to watch again and one that I can enjoy.
As far as Wrath of Khan is concerned, it just does not leave the same impression as Star Wars. After watching the TV episodes, the Star Trek movies just feel like an elaborate extension of the TV plots, however, one Star Trek movie that I really did like was Nemesis, but still not the same level as Empire Strikes Back. There is no comparison.

"The Empire Strikes Back" is the better movie. Because of the conflict between those heroes, who are "enemies". But at least they are really Father and SON...
Luke & Anakin Skywalker !!!
That's really frightening, that's moving, like real life...
Some people cried at the movie theaters !
Even grown up men could not hold back their tears !
So forget about Khan, that's just
good fantasy stuff,
nothing more....

Oh boy, this is a tough one I love them both. ...uuuuummmmmm I'm going to say the Wrath of Khan. I've always loved the sense of humour of Kirk, Spock and Dr Mc Coy. How Kirk learned about him having a son and wanting to get to know him. I really love how Admiral Kirk outsmarts Khan. I know Kirk doesn't like to lose!
