Please keep the crass comments aside. I'd like to know the legal or other reasons for not burying this poor woman. If it's about the pending ruling on whether or not to allow a DNA test to determine paternity of her little baby, why do they need the body? They certainly have other things that would serve the purpose? This just seems rather ridiculous to me and I haven't seen a proper explanation.

It's a chain of custody thing. With the body there, they can be sure that DNA from A.N.S. is actually A.N.S.'s DNA. If they took a sample and put it in the lab, then someone could swap it out and nobody would know.
By preserving the body for a short time, they can get all the required tests done and nobody an complain.
They do need her body because they have to make sure that the baby brought to the lab to be tested is in fact A.N.S.'s baby.

This is being done so there is no bait and switch on the baby. To me this is ludicris we all ready know who the mother is. What they need to do is find the father. DNA tests should provide that answer without perserving the mother. Time to bury Anna so she may rest in peace!

The hearing for the DNA request in court is Feb. 20th. They have to preserve her in case they need another sample because the first one didn't turn out. Also, I believe samples have to be so many hours or days old.

Because there is a few Good men that don't trust our system.And to think that money doesn't make people do dumb things.Her Mother should take and bury her next to her son...She needs to be given a proper burial.But money talks....

Yeah the guy that thinks he is the father...not her lawyer...is a total idiot...I don't think he realizes that they don't need her body...I think its wrong...she needs to be layed to rest. She went through so much in her life...and they cant even give her a break when she has already passed....its just sad.
