Don't open e-mails if you don't know who sent them - just delete them.
Don't open attatchements even if you know who sent them before scanning them with an anti virus and an anti spyware.

Use decvent anti spyware, Spybot Search and Destroy is good.
If you don't open the e-mail it can't get on your pc, so stop worrying.

http://www.safer-networking.org - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware. Use the Teatimer settings to protect Internet Explorer, and the Immuniser to stop malware getting on your pc.

It is most likely a hoax, but you can keep track of such things looking them up on antivirus sites like Norton's or McAfee's

for hoaxes

My favourite hoax from the list and most dangerous by all accounts is the evil "Work Virus" as described below. It can certainly ruin your life!

Norton's help page is:

http://www.symantec.com/security_response/index.jsp

Remember, the worse, the more doom ridden a warning, the more likely it was put out by someone who doesn't know the first thing about programming a virus.

Don't spread these warnings to your friends because the most likel thing that will happen is that if your computer really does carry a virus, you'll only help to spread it further. Keep your antivirus up to date. Pay the extra dollars and get the latest version of the program, not just the licence to get updates. Run cleaning programs to flush out your computer, like Ccleaner from www.ccleaner.com or Adaware from www.lavasoft.de

Computer hygene. Its like washing your hands. Do it!

Update your anti-virus definitions and don't open any suspicious emails from people you don't know.
