Success is achieving something that you set your sights on. But success also may lie in trying to succeed whether you finally achieve or not.
Success should finally result in happiness. That is more important.

As a rule, success should make you happy. It can mean succeeding at something you've failed at before, or it could mean getting it right the first time. Also, I feel to truly be a success, you shouldn't allow others to tell you you aren't in their eyes. If you're happy, that's all that matters.
