Since surrogacy is achieved through IVF and the egg and sperm are joined outside the womb, yes you can choose the sex of your child. It is called Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) and it does up the cost considerably. Some doctors will not let you choose the sex of your baby, but if it is THAT important to you, I would call around.
Good luck!!

I don't think that can be done and if it can I don't think they will do it. I hate when people get hung up on the sex of their baby. They should just be happy to have a healthy baby, boy or girl. I wish you the best of luck if you are the one choosing a surrogate. It is a stressful and overwhelming experience. Just pray for a healthy baby and mom.

I am sure you can talk to the fertiliy scpecialist about it
but it will certainly cost you extra
and also if the clinic don't have the gender selector services you might have to go to a different clinic
Good luck
