I want to start up a web page but I don't know how to get started. Can anyone direct me in the right direction of getting started? I don't want it to be anything special, just something for people im my community to read. (and no it's not going to discriminate anyone) Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You

It sounds like you prefer an almost 'ready made' site, try the Page Maker via Google https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=pages&continue=http%3A%2F%2Fpages.google.com%2F
Webspawner: http://www.webspawner.com/ offers free website with tools that claim it to be easy to create a professional looking site. Never used/heard of but might be quite new...worth a look.

FCPages seems to have a decent rating...although I haven't investigated to see if they have easy tools to use, again worth a look..http://www.freecenter.com/db/click.cgi?category=homepages&url=http://www.fcpages.com/

Also, consider using a Blog atmosphere...these are ready to go and you simply choose a Template you like and begin adding your content. Some of these are:

WordPress: http://wordpress.com/

Blogger: http://www.blogger.com/start

Live Journal: http://www.livejournal.com/

Blog: http://blog.com/

Blog Easy: http://www.blogeasy.com/

This should be enough to at least get you started in the right direction...you CAN if you really wish to, get a free hosted site and upload a template webpage...more work and you should know at least basic html etc. If you choose to go that route you might also consider using a website creator tool such as Homepage, NetFusion etc...they make website development reasonably WYSIWYG (you can work with only the code or you can work with only the actual visual content of the page and how it will look when uploaded).

If this is your first page...stick with one of the pre-mades or the one that offers the tools to create a page with ease.

Good luck,
