I was told that since I have had HSV type 1 for 3 years, it is less likely that I will pass this to my child.

Is that true? Has anyone HSV+ given birth to a healthy baby?

Generally if the mother is positive for herpes then the baby will be delivered via C section to avoid passing the virus to the baby. You should have no problem having a healthy baby.

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes (type 2) about five years ago, when I was still attending college and had a foolish one-night stand. I realize a lot of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and suddenly it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl that has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/cRNe9 everything improved.

Not only was I able to eradicate all traces of the herpes simplex virus from my system in less than 21 days, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just last week, in front of everyone in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This program provided me the chance to be happy and experience real love again. Now I want to help others too by sharing this story.

Your doctor will monitor you closely as you get closer to giving birth, if you are having an outbreak when it is time to deliver, you will have a C-Section. If you're not, you can have a normal vaginal birth.

Some doctors might also put you on suppressive therapy, such as Valtrex daily to prevent you from having an outbreak when it is time to deliver.

Talk to your doctor. There are pills that eliminate the risk of passing it to your child. My mom had genital herpes when she had me and I dont now so,
I hope for the best.

My SIL has it as well and her daughter is 9 now. They did decide on a C-Section though. Just to make sure. Ask your doctor and see what he would recommend. Good Luck.. and try not to worry!!
