The U.S.A. was progressive back in the 1970's but is slow to embrace alternative energy sources and environmentally-sound practices across the board. What nations are beating us to the punch in efforts to clean up "our" act and walk softly on the Earth?

Probably Holland and Germany. They even give you bags to use over and over for groceries and shopping...

Stewardship means handling what you've got well, and in that case, I think it's the U.S. and A. The U.S. and A. has the 2nd-toughest vehicle emission standards in the world, second only to Germany. There are more trees in North America now than there were 400 years ago. I'm sure I'll get thumbs-downs from the feel-gooders, but facts are facts, and thumbs down just reveals ignorance on these particular issues.

I would have to vote for Australia and/or New Zealand... the U.S.A. is one of the world's worst.

the poorest ones. they use the least fossil fuels and are in a closer relationship to the planet than the ones that are industrialized.
