That question makes me angry. I think women should be paid to be off for the whole pregnancy. I went to work throwing up about ten times a day up until my doctor put me on bedrest to prevent miscarriage. Hardest 9 months of my life. I have an ONLY child.

First of all this is a dumb a** question! Do you think it is right that a woman push a watermelon out of a lemon and she can go right back to work the next day like nothing ever happened? It is obvious you are #1 a man, #2 young or just #3 stupid lol. I agree in the fact that it isn't right that a man cant take maternity leave also and I do think if their significant other gives birth to their child the male should be able to take time off to help her out. I wish my hubby could have taken time off to help me out after the birth of my twins and my singleton after that. But to say a woman shouldn't get time off is retarded!

No, you can have paternity leave. I think its fair that women should get time off with there babies, Its very tiring to work whilst u are pregnant and to carry a baby u deserve maternity leave. Only a couple of generations ago, women wouldnt work once they had there babies and the father would support the whole family.

Outlawed? No. That is ridiculous. Revised? Absolutely.
If this question is a result of a bad experience, I agree completely that men should definitely have paternity leave as well, no question.
If this question is a result of being a bitter guy in search of more reasons to be angry toward women, stop being such a baby.

They have passed a law that allows the fathers to take paternity leave as well as the mother. What is wrong with that? Sometimes the mother needs help. If you have ever had a wife the had a c-section then you would understand that.

It doesn't discriminate most companies allow paternity leave and even adoption leave. I think allot of the problems kids have these days are because parents aren't around enough so taking their parents away from them, even at such a young age, is only going to harm them, not do them good.

Don't you have family leave where you live? Sounds like you work with someone who's having too many babies, or making you do more work cause their on leave. Are you nuts? What do you want the mom to do, come to work the day after delivery? Discriminates against men? Hmm, let me see, woman shouldn't work that are going to have children. Woman shouldn't work who are pregnant...
Mom's shouldn't work. don't know about you, but the workforce would be very scarce without working moms. since the majority of nurses are moms, can you imagine what hospitals would be like without them?

You know what - I'm in a dilemna. When I had my own business I hated the fact I had to keep a job open for someone while paying someone else to do their job while they were away, and then bringing them back on their own terms afterwards - if they still fancied it - and potentially having to get rid of whoever filled the gap while they were off.
But, when my wife was on maternity I forgot all about that and coined it in for months. Funny old world eh??

Men are allowed to take Paternity leave if they wanted to. So no, maternity leave is not discriminitory.
Besides, I am sure that if you popped out a bowling ball, your company would allow you 6 weeks as well.
