Absolutely YES! My daughter is enrolled in an Auto Technology course (2 years) and I am very proud of her. Having the ability to discuss and troubleshoot problems is a huge advantage over MOST people and it will allow the person the opportunity to make their own repairs or at the very least help eliminate being taken to the cleaner by an Untrustworthy Auto repair shop. If you have the knowledge, YOU HAVE POWER!

I think it's a good trade to learn. Problem is that a lot of schools out there can't do it because of cost and insurance constraints.
One thing that I think should also be in the curriculum is driver's ed. It should be a prerequisite.

Yes, it's a good skill to have. Way more useful to the average person than some of the other stuff they make you learn.

Yes. These are very practical skills that everyone should have. I actually feel it would give many females more confidence in working on their own vehicle.

Yes, but first kids need to learn the basics, like spelling. ALLOWED

you bet my daughter is in her 3rd year of auto mechanics she loves it.she changed shocks, ball joints. when i am working on my car she helps with answers to problems i over look.
