McCain initially opposed the Bush tax cuts, opposed the gay marriage amendment and wrote the senate immigration bill that conservatives (including the leader of the Minutemen) decried as "amnesty." James Dobson of the conservative 'Focus on the Family' said he would NEVER vote for McCain.

Giuliani is pro choice. He once told Phil Donahue: "I would fund abortions" for poor people. He supports gun control legislation, supports gay rights and has dressed in drag for a press event.

Romney is on the record (over and over again) as a pro-choice candidate ... until he decided to run for the GOP nomination when he flipped to pro-life. He also supports a greater role for the federal government in health care.

With these three sitting as frontrunners, is there ANY chance that GOP voters will get a traditional, Reagan conservative as their nominee?

Newt is the best choice but he isn't popular. The democrats drug him through the mud for political reasons. He really is brilliant and really a conservative.

Contrary to what the brain-dead around here believe, it is not necessary for a Republican candidate to be a "fundie," in order to elicit our support.

I do think it is important to remember that we have a sitting President, and some time before primaries. Many of the Democrats who are running will have worn themselves out by then. And Congress will hardly get anything done.

I do not like Giuliani, b/c I do not think he can take the South. Of the ones you listed, I like McCain. I think we will be looking for a solid military type for the Presidency, because someone will have to finish the job in Iraq and deal with Iran. Also, I want someone who will come up with the right position and do something about illegal immigration.

I will add that I am a fundie. And I like James Dobson. But I do not see his role in politics as his best suit. And you have not mentioned who Robertson is supporting, and I think that is a better indication of how the US will go, don't you?

Paul has no threat of triumphing. Republicans get into place of work to alter issues for the greediest human beings. Any common man or woman won't be able to be a republican. Watch Iraq on the marketplace & you will get a clue as to why Bush began the wars.

No there arent any.

There aren't even any consvative CANDIDATES, let alone one who has a chance to win the nomination.

I'm excluding Newt since he's said he wasn't running, but he would be far and away the best choice based on his leadership experience.

If you mean by Reagan, a completely unqualified BS actor with Alzheimers, I'm sure the GOP can come up with another W.
America is a little tired of that just now.

There is going to be 1 conservative and he will not win nomination. Unless Newt comes in.

If they do our next president will be a democrat.

Only moderate candidates have a chance to win as 54% of Americans consider themselves moderate.

What you are really asking is: Are there any fundie republicans we can get behind? So far McCain is the only guy even close. Brownback is a dweeb, and Gingrich is historical road kill.
